Policy Specialist
Mr. Prudence Lugendo serves as a Policy Specialist (PS) for SAGCOT Centre Ltd. He joined SCL in 2018 and possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics, both from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA).
Prior to joining SAGCOT Centre, he worked as Research Assistant for Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) and later joined International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) as a Policy Analyst under the secondment project known as Platform for Agricultural Policy Analysis and Coordination (PAPAC) at the Ministry of Agriculture.
He has vast experience in Micro and Macro Economic Analysis; Econometric Analysis; Agriculture Value Chain Analysis; Agricultural Transformation; Policy Research; Policy Advocacy and Policy Impact Evaluation. Mr. Prudence Lugendo is also a Borlaug Research Fellow with University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL) from September to December 2016. He has published various research papers on agricultural productivity including effects of climate change on agriculture; impact of smallholders' irrigation schemes on poverty reduction and agricultural marketing and possesses over 8 years’ experience in working with Private Sector; Public Sector and Development Partners.
